Blogspot is pissing me off

Ya know, I'm not completely ignorant when it comes to this stuff. But, it would be nice if this site was more user-friendly!

1.) Why is it that whenever I add a picture, it only gets added to the very top of what I'm writing, not where the curser is? I have to drag the damn thing all the way down to where I want it, and that takes some doing because you have to drag, drop and THEN scroll down the box some more... repeat.

2.) The templates on here suck. Period. I'm been scouring the web for funky templates and none of them seem to work right. The directions those sites have for adding them to your blog don't seem to apply to BlogSpot. There is NO place ANYWHERE on my "dashboard" to upload a new template. It only lets me paste HTML, which I can't seem to access on most of these templates. Am I missing something?

UPDATE: Finally figured some stuff out.... obviously. Like the new design? Yeah, I'm not sure either, but it's a heck of a lot better than what it was! The template has some design flaws that I'm trying to work out. It'll do for now.

  1. OK I may be a day late and a dollar short here and you might not even get this, but learning some basic keyboard commands has saved me (and the computer from my violent wrath) on more than on occasion... So - if you haven't gotten this yet - try the following tricks:
for picture moving (which i agree is a TOTAL pain on blogger) - add the pic to it's usual annoying place at the top (no way around that) then highlight, hit "control C" [control key plus c key simultaneously] to cut, move cursor to where you want to replace pic, then use "control P" to paste. you'll have to go pack and delete the original image but it's much easier to place pics this way imho. Oh - and "control Z" undoes the last thing you did. so say your rolling along and accidentally delete a pic as you try to adjust spacing? STOP. and hit "control Z" (this only works for the VERY last thing you did/keystroke, but it's a total lifesaver when you've just effed something up big-time. hope that helps make your blogging less frustrating! love the PE pics - funny!!

  2. D'OH!!!

it's actually "control V" to paste, not "control P" (i have no idea why they didn't use P for paste since they use C for cut, but they didn't... sorry for the bad tip!
    : )
